This week started Percussion and Guard Camp. We are working from 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM @ LA in the Band room and outside. Next week starts full Camp, Monday the 19th - Friday the 23rd here @ LA in the band room. Times are 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. Make sure you drink plenty of water and bring sun screen.
On Tuesday afternoon at 4:30 PM we will be having a hopefully short Band Booster meeting just to get to know each other and to get info out to you. Please try to help us by attending and helping with input. I know I appreciate you all and the support you give to our students. Let's make this a great Year and experience.

Dates: Night Rehearsals, may be used if the weather during the day is to extreme. When we do meet together All CDC Health requirements will be in place and observed.

Important Notes: Band Camp Week 1, Week 2 and week 3 are required - mandatory camps for ALL Band Members. These camps involve learning basic marching, learning music, and practicing for our fall marching show, as well as pre-game. These camps will include music rehearsals, warm-ups, sectional practice, marching fundamentals, drill work, etc.. in order for us to learn the fundamentals necessary for our show. If you do not attend Band Camp Week 1(Percussion and Color Guard), Week 2 and Week 3 a spot Will NOT be guaranteed for you in the show. (Communication with the Director is very important.)
Food: snacks and drinks you will need to provide; lunch will be provided this year,
Clothing: Wear light clothing, color and weight, shorts, t-shirts, tennis shoes (required), and extra socks. Students can also wear a hat to cover their heads and faces from the sun. Water bottles, sunscreen, sunglasses, snacks, and extra clothes for inclement weather are also good ideas.
There are 5 home (at Tech) football Games and 5 away Games (we may or may not travel to), there are also numerous festivals and competitions we attend on Saturday’s and you are required to participate. Parades are also a part of what we do.
There is a fee which we require and is not covered under the fee waiver program, this is to be paid by all band and color guard members. Our show for the fall is scheduled to be “NEVERMORE”. If you have any questions, please call me, Thank you.

The Livingston Academy "Spirit of the Wildcats" Band program consists of marching band, concert band, pep band, jazz band, wind and percussion ensembles, and color guard. The marching band and color guard begin their very busy schedule with band camp in July and generally rehearse and perform from August through early November. Livingston Academy Band competes in the Tennessee Music Educators Association (TMEA) and the Tennessee Secondary Schools Athletic Association (TSSAA) Division II classification and the Middle Tennessee School Band & Orchestra Association (MTSBOA). Concert Band and Jazz Band perform from December through May and members regularly participate in many festivals, including the MTSBOA solo and ensemble festival. The marching band, concert bands, pep band and jazz band all appear at school and community functions throughout the year. The bands perform under the direction of Greg Dingwall and assisted by Mike Holbrook.
